Background:
Institute of education for
disabled people is an indigenous international
organization based in Nairobi Kenya with sub-offices
in Mogadishu and Merca district, Somalia. The
organization was established in the year 1993 as
welfare society by the east African communities with
disabilities due to serious outcry by the people,
they needed a strong organization that will voice,
represent and articulate their needs.
The
overall goal of IEDP is to address issues,
concerns, needs and social-economic welfare of the
disabled persons in the region. The organization
particularly targets the sensitization of the
disabled people on education Health, campaigns and
Advocating for the appropriate legislation for the
persons with disabilities in the region.
Activities
The activities of the
organization were achieved through the objectives
and are sub-divided in to two
* Implemented activities, and
* Planned activities.
