GENERAL FOOD DISTRIBUTION

IEDP made general food distribution program for the 3872 beneficiaries who are  disabled people and unaccompanied elderly persons in the Dharkenley district Banadir region for the poor and weak people.

 IEDP with partnership of the WFP     managed the distribution for the dry food aid to the disabled people and unaccompanied elderly person living there one of the most biggest dsitircitiies in the Banadir region

 Wadajir District is one of the largest  districts that is hosting thousands inter displaced persons who are in more than 30 IDP camps located there most  of them new camps established for the new displaced people  fleeing fro the fighting  going most district in the Banadir region.

 IEDP with cooperation of the DC district  commissioners made assessment there November found that there are new displaced  people coming every day   there. The most surprising is that nomadic people mostly farmers and cattle herds are reaching there. These people are fleeing from different areas of the  lower Shabelle  region with their animals and some of their house holds

  The district now hosting the largest population in the Banadir region is now suffering shortage of public service and resource like the water, sanitation, health care, Medicine and food for the new displaced persons who over corded there from  different regions.

 IEDP realized the need bad there is here sending to the UN agencies, international NGOs and donors to   reach there with emergency aid for the hundreds new nomadic displaced persons  with their animals .
