GENDER
BASED ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT PROJECT FOR TWENTY WAR
VICTIMS DISABLED WOMEN IN MADINA DISTRICT
IEDP institute education for
disabled people is non profit Somalia organization of
the persons with disabilities. The organization
launched livelihood project for the Gender Economic
development in Somalia. This project was benefited by
twenty war victim disable women.
IEDP conducted capacity building
workshop to injected the beneficiaries lessons about
the project and business in general. The lesson they
took were really important for their work and business.
The trainees were give the lesson
by professional Somali teacher and assistant. The
beneficiaries of the project seem to be different and
more powerful who potential of the their business.
The benefices were twenty war
victims disabled women who some of them were very poor
women depending begging in the streets and in the
market. Nine out of the twenty beneficiaries were
disabled mother with children who were jobless unable
to cover the needs of their families. The rest other
eleven were youth age females both unmarried young girls
and widowed
The twenty women with disabilities
finished the training and started their work with
happiness and jubilation for the new change in their
live. Most of them unseen or head support like this
thanked the project funding agency the ABILIS
foundation.
IEDP is really thanking the agency
that funded this project which is really very helpful
for the disabled women who are the poorest groups in
the society now become skillful and employed persons
able to solve their person and family needs.
